Conny Rijken will continue in her role as the Dutch National Rapporteur on Trafficking in Human Beings and Sexual Violence against Children for the next four years. The Council of Ministers has approved her reappointment for a second term, running from 1 September 2026 to 1 September 2030. During her first term, Rijken worked to improve understanding of the scale and nature of human trafficking and sexual violence against children, strengthen victim protection, and make the response to these serious forms of violence and exploitation more effective.
In the years ahead, she will continue along this path and will also focus, among other things, on increasing the visibility of people in vulnerable situations and improving cooperation between the parties involved.
